Moving Preparation
When your moving team arrives, please walk through with them and tell them exactly what you would like to have done. They can also offer suggestions at that time that can make your move more efficient.
Today Movers offers disassemble/reassemble services for your furniture and appliances upon your request, or for a faster move you can have the items disassembled for the crew.
We do offer packing services; however, the crews will not do any packing on moving day. If you are interested in packing services, please let the office know at the time of booking so that we can set up an in-home estimate for packing. Packing will be scheduled prior to your move date.
Washing machines should be secured with a transport bolt. We cannot provide bolts, however if you have a bolt the crew can put it on the washer for you.
We can move the furniture with soft items in the drawers such as blankets, pillows, and clothing, but heavy or breakable items will need to be removed. Desks, refrigerators, cabinets, safes, nightstands, and shelves must be emptied in order to be moved.
All boxes should be covered with tight fitting lids or taped for closure. We are unable to move open boxes for insurance purposes. We can move large plastic bags that contain soft items only, such as blankets, pillows, or clothing.
Count the number of boxes to be moved and mark your boxes for placement in specific rooms or areas at the new location.
TXDot does not allow us to transport guns and ammunition or hazardous materials, so we will need the gas taken out of your lawn mowers weed eaters and propane tanks taken off grills.
When the house is empty, do a walk through to make sure everything has been removed and loaded before your moving crew leaves. You will be asked to sign indicating that everything needing to be moved has been loaded on the truck, so please be sure to check all rooms, closets, garages, sheds, etc.
At the completion of the move, sign all contracts and close all accounts. We will have copies of all transactions for you. All payment transactions are recorded with electronic equipment to assure your privacy and safety from identity fraud.
